2009 Chateau Moulin St. Georges

We are delighted to offer a small parcel of Château Moulin Saint-Georges, a small sister property of Château Ausone and a perennial favourite at Z&B. The Vauthier family and winemaker Phillipe Baillarguest are putting as much effort into producing the best Château Moulin Saint-Georges as they are with Château Ausone. Moulin Saint-Georges is produced in the same way. Super-strict fruit selection and the wine is matured in 100% new French barriques from anywhere between 18 to 20 months.

This is a truly fabulous property and their wine is world-class in our opinion. We are pleased to report that Neal Martin (Wine Journal) echoes the exact same sentiment...

Neal Martin 94
“Tasted at Chateau Ausone, the Moulin Saint Georges 2009 has dark cherries, cassis and black plum on the nose with an intriguing honeyed scent in the background. There is a palpable exotic touch to this wine. The palate is full-bodied but with supple tannins that fan out nicely to a sensual, svelte finish. This just blossoms in the glass...once of Vauthier’s finest wines from this estate. Tasted November 2011”.
