This morning starts with a daft priced Saint Emilion, Château Figeac, which is available @ £1,800.00 IB per case... Really, what were they thinking!?
18.5 James Lawther (Decanter.com)
"This is a Figeac with plenty of substance but still elegant and fresh in style. Dense, lively, expressive fruit. Firm but fine tannins. Great length. Drink 2020-2040".
16.5+ Jancis Robinson
"Very dark crimson. Medium concentration. High-toned minerality on the nose. Lots of appetising sap and savour. Loose and round and easy peasy. Attractive in that it's not overdone; possibly a chance missed in that it's just slightly slack. Or possibly it's Figeac..! Ah. That last phrase was written when I tasted this blind and it's true that this potentially great wine rarely shows well en primeur. Hence the hopeful double plus after the score. Though its gravel soils will not have done the wine any favours in this exceptionally dry vintage".
We are delighted to offer and highly recommend one of the true super-stars of Pomerol, L'Eglise Clinet which is offered @ £3,250.00 IB per case (Very limited availability)
SOLD OUT
96-100 Robert Parker
"Tasted from various barrels, this note is from the final blend in Darnajou barrel. It will consist of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, picked between 20th and 27th September and 1st October respectively. The bouquet is very intense with ebullient ripe red berried, truffle and briary, an underlying mineralité that is sure to become more evident as its ages in bottle. The palate is full-bodied with very fine tannins, intense dark berried fruit, a touch of blackberry and crushed stone. There is exceptional delineation on the finish that is poised and coiled like a spring. Wonderful. N.B. Tasted from the Taransaud bottle I found more richness on the nose, a touch more"

Tasted from the Taransaud bottle I found more richness on the nose, a touch more opulence and perhaps more "juicier". Whatever…it's gonna be awesome. Tasted April 2011".
97-98 James Suckling
"So much elegance and complexity to this young wine with plenty of flowers and dark fruit notes. Full and super refined, with amazing complexity and firmness. It is very tight and silky. Long and intense. This is a super 2001 or a 1961".
NB: We only have 1 x Case Château Le Conseillante left @ £1,775.00 IB per case (95-98 Parker)
Interestingly, Château La Mission Haut Brion has released a one-off tranche (Apparently, they are not releasing a second tranche by all accounts!) therefore, quantities are limited. Nonetheless, we are delighted to offer their stunning 2010 on a first-come-first-served basis @ £7,000.00 IB per case...
98-100 Robert Parker
"One of the most powerful La Missions ever produced, the 2010, a blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc, achieved 15% natural alcohol (even higher than the 2009's 14.7%). Nevertheless, the pH is normal which gives the wine an extraordinary precision, freshness and vibrancy despite its massive size. A blue/purple color is followed by a classic nose of blueberry liqueur, creme de cassis, spring flowers and crushed rocks. This monumental, full-bodied, incredibly rich La Mission-Haut-Brion will need a decade of cellaring and should last for 40-50 years. It is slightly fatter and creamier than its sibling rival, the 2010 Chateau Haut-Brion"
19.0 Steven Spurrier
"Dense black floral fruit, great depth and ripeness, great structure and elegance, a superb La Mission. Drink 2018-40".
The stunning second wine of La Mission Haut Brion, La Chapelle de la Mission is also available @ £1,270.00 IB per case...
91-94 Robert Parker
"The finest La Chapelle de la Mission ever made (this cuvee now includes the production from the now extinct La Tour Haut-Brion vineyard), the 2010 is composed of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot and 26% Cabernet Franc. With amazing viscosity, a thick, earthy, forest-scented nose and copious quantities of black fruits and minerality, plus full body and supple tannins, it should drink well for 15 or more years".
NB: We are still patiently waiting for Mouton Rothschild & Château Margaux second trance releases however, we can confirm that Château Mouton Rothschild has cut everyone's first-tranche allocations by a staggering 65% which is a pretty poor show in our books.
• L'Eglise Client has already sold-out...
Château Lafite Rothschild has released both their 'Grand Vin' and their second wine, Carruades de Lafite. Unfortunately, It's the same story with reduced first-tranche allocations. Consequently, most négociants are holding back their offers until they receive their second-tranche allocation... Still no news from Mouton & Château Margaux.
Château Latour's superb second wine, Les Forts de Latour is released however, this has immediately sold-out to pre-order customers.
