90-92 Robert Parker
“An undeniable sleeper of the vintage, this may be the finest Poujeaux I have tasted in three decades. A crushed rock/mineral character is intertwined with abundant black currant, blackberry, incense and camphor notes in this full-bodied, unctuously textured, elegant, pure effort. It is capable of lasting 15 years”
91-93 Neal Martin
“Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois primeur tasting. A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, the Poujeaux 2010 has a crisp, well defined nose with fresh dark berried fruit, a touch of dark plum and a touch of Hoi Sin. Good definition and lift. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe, succulent tannins, quite modern in style but imbued with good tension and focus, this should be a little belter in bottle. Tasted April 2011”.
This afternoon see’s the release of one of our favourites, La Bernadotte, which we are delighted to offer and highly recommend @ £145.00 IB per case.
La Bernadotte is owned & managed by Château Pichon Lalande and enjoys the same wine making team as the Grand Vin...
Jancis Robinson 17.0
“Dark crimson. Scented with just the slightest hint of green. Sweet start and very luscious. Dramatic and crowd-pleasing with real potential for development. Neat finish. Shiny and should be VGV”.
Neal Martin 90-92
“A blend of 51.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 48.5% Merlot clocking in at 13.7% alcohol, this has a lifted, quite assertive nose with blackberry, a touch of briary, cedar and pencil shavings. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, slightly grainy tannins, just a little hardness at the moment but that should dissipate by the time of bottling. It is a little austere and conservative towards the finish but very good weight. Masculine. Drink 2013-2020. Tasted March 2011”.
