It's been a disappointingly quiet day in Bordeaux although Alain Vauthier has just broken cover and released Château Ausone's second wine, Chapelle d'Ausone, which we are delighted to offer @ £840.00 IB per case. . .
Parker awards (91-93) and describes the wine as "One of the finest second wines of Bordeaux, the 2008 La Chapelle d'Ausone exhibits abundant amounts of sweet blackberry and cassis fruit intermixed with hints of ripe cherries, loamy soil, licorice, and earth. This relatively evolved, fleshy, full-bodied beauty should drink well for 15 or more years".
We hope Château Ausone will follow soon after. . .
