Château Cheval Blanc
This morning see's one of the final releases of this years campaign – The great Saint Emilion Château Cheval Blanc has taken a fearless stance with their 2007 offering. As a consequence, you need to part with £3,800.00 to obtain a case of the 2007. . . On the one-hand, quantities are very small as only a third of the crop went into producing the Grand Vin, which equates to a meagre 4,000 cases nevertheless, their opening price is beyond any understanding. Put simply, it's bonkers particularly when you can pick the delicious and very good 2001 for £2,000.00 (93 Parker) and the 2004 at £1,600.00. . .
The 07 has also seen some very mixed messages/scores from the world's critics too. . .
Robert Parker: 88-91
Neal Martin: 93-95
James Suckling: 89-92
Jancis Robinson: 18.0
Decanter Magazine: 17.0
