This morning kicks off with a flood of top releases. . .
Château Lascombes
First up is the excellent Margaux property, Château Lascombes, which we are able to offer @ £395.00 IB per case. The 07 has been a resounding success with many critics awarding creditable/to high scores however, it's too expensive in my opinion. . . Wines such as Pavie Macquin, Rauzan Ségla & Leoville Barton offer much better value. . .
Jancis Robinson awards 17+
"Blackish crimson. Dense, minerally, rather distinctively intense aromas. Very thick and sweet and dense. All stops pulled out here and the tannin quality is nice. Not too flabby. Well done. More powerful than most but still with a good texture. Lots of work and thought seems to have gone into this. Real progress"
Château Palmer
Château Palmer has undoubtedly produced a very good wine in a difficult vintage however, I do think their lofty price tag of £1,175.00 is absolutely bonkers. . . As such, we can not recommend it. . .
Pape Clement Blanc
Pape Clement Blanc is available @ £1,250.00 IB per case – Miniscule quantities are available/produced and Parker simply adored the 2007, awarding it a 96-100, which is exactly the same score as the highly prized Château Haut Brion Blanc, which undoubtedly will be offered well over £2,000.00+++ per case. . .
Pape Clement Rouge
Pape Clement Rouge is offered @ £720.00 IB per case – Parker awards 91-94, which is on par with Château Haut Brion – Price indication of 07 Haut Brion will be circa £2,500.00 per case. . .
Strictly limited quantities available. . .
NB: Our earlier offer of Château Haut Bergey Blanc is now SOLD OUT. . .
